Empowering Kismayo’s Future: Educate, Empower, Elevate!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new campaign, “Empowering Kismayo’s Future:
Educate, Empower, Elevate!” This transformative initiative, launched on April 24, 2025, by the
Wamo Educational Development Organization (WEDO), aims to uplift the lives of 200
underprivileged girls in Kismayo, Somalia.
Why This Matters
In Kismayo, Somalia, like many areas around the world, education remains a powerful tool for
breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering communities. However, many girls face
significant barriers to accessing quality education due to economic challenges, cultural norms,
and limited resources. At WEDO, we believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to learn,
grow, and realize her full potential.
Our Vision
Our campaign focuses on three core pillars: Educate, Empower, Elevate.

1. Educate: We aim to provide access to quality educational resources, including school
   supplies, scholarships, and mentorship programs. By ensuring that these girls receive a solid
   education, we pave the way for their future success.
2. Empower: Beyond academics, we seek to empower these girls through skill-building
   workshops, leadership training, and community engagement. By fostering self-confidence and
   resilience, we want them to become advocates for their own education and futures.
3. Elevate: Our ultimate goal is to elevate the status and opportunities available to girls in
   Kismayo. Through partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders,
   we will create pathways for these young women to enter higher education and the workforce.
   The Launch Event
   The campaign launch event was a resounding success, bringing together community members,
   local leaders, and inspiring speakers who shared their own journeys of resilience and
   achievement. Participants were introduced to the various aspects of the campaign, learned
   about the significance of girls’ education, and were encouraged to join in the effort to make a
   difference.
